As coaches we constantly get messages about the “perfect niche.” How we can discover it. Why having a niche is good for business, and how we might fail without them. There is a huge difference, however, between just discovering a niche and nailing a viable coaching niche.

Nailing your niche helps you create your ideal clients and craft your winning marketing message. You know what your clients want, and you know how and where to find them. When people know exactly whom you support/help, they can easily refer clients to you. If you’re at a networking event or cocktail party and tell people you help single women find Mr. Right, you may have a better chance of referral/getting hired without further explanation than just saying you’re a relationship coach.

As with anything in life, business women, entrepreneurs and coaches are not immune from self-sabotaging even their most hopeful ventures. All the degrees, creativity, brilliance, marketing funnels, strategies and tricks do not make up for the 3 biggest blunders that keep entrepreneurs overwhelmed, overworked and underpaid.

Business is not what I expected. I’m struggling to find my ideal clients. I can’t seem to get past my own money stories and beliefs to charge what I’m worth. I really want to charge premium prices for the all the value I’m giving. I opened my business so that I can do what I love and make money. Now, all I do is work and I don’ t feel like I’m making money. Should I just go find another job and not worry about how I’m going to pay my bills?
